Submitted by Marijuana News The most advanced countries for marijuana research are using science to defeat the stigma while getting people the medicine they need. The Impact of Legalization

Article By Annie Loupy As legalization starts sweeping through the Americas and Europe, cannabis culture is shifting. Gone are the days of buying weed in a back-alley deal or hiding your weed jar when company comes over or using euphemisms and code to try to discover the other “closeted stoners.” Legalization has brought on a new stoner stereotype – the everyday student, professional, mom or whatever. We aren’t all wearing ponchos and saying “duuuuude.” And with legality, studies are showing statistics that prove underage consumption is dropping. It may be counterintuitive but kids always want to do what they...

Here is a list of which professions smokes the most weed. Check out where you rank.

The list was compiled by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention . A recent study  ranked Colorado occupations by how much their workers use marijuana, which was legalized in the state in 2012 and became available for purchase two years later.   On average, 14 percent of respondents said they had used weed in the past month. Young adults and men were slightly more likely to toke up. While the results may not track with exactly what would happen in New Jersey (though we have a feeling some of these professions will hold strong), they do offer some insight for lawmakers and employers who...

Cannabis Compound Removes Toxic Alzheimer’s Protein from the Brain

Scientists have new evidence that suggests that THC inhibits the formation of amyloid plaques by blocking the enzyme in the brain that produces them. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s are caused by the poor formation of those proteins in the brain. An active compound in marijuana called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been found to promote the removal of toxic clumps of amyloid beta protein in the brain, which are thought to kickstart the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The finding supports the results of previous studies that found evidence of the protective effects of cannabinoids, including THC, on patients with neurodegenerative...

Submitted by Marijuana News The Differences Between Malignant & Benign Cancer Cancer is the name given to a collection of related diseases. In all types of cancer the body’s cells begin to divide and spread into surrounding tissues. Cancer can start almost anywhere in the body, which is made up of trillions of cells. United Nations report scolds countries for cannabis legalization

The United Nations International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) recently issued its 2017 annual report, and the takeaway with regard to cannabis is clear: The INCB is deeply concerned with the spread of adult-use legalization. The report contains stern warnings, accusing countries like Uruguay of acting in “clear violation” of global drug control accords. The Board, which monitors compliance with international drug control treaties, is made up of individuals, not U.N. member states. That’s meant to protect it from political pressure. The Board’s charter also stipulates, however, that it must include individuals with “medical, pharmacological or pharmaceutical experience.” That means Big...
